I was lucky enough to be able to purchase some lovely rabbits this year! Im very pleased to introduce my new Champage d’Argent Rabbits as well as English Angora Rabbits!
I chose champagne d’argent rabbits because I was looking for a nice solid meat rabbit that wasn’t just plain white, I love colours! These silver coloured rabbits start off solid black and then slowly turn silver as they age! They are a nice medium sized rabbit that are generally considered good mothers and have good decent growth rates! I was lucky enough to to get my first couple rabbits at the end of last year and then added a couple females this summer. My plan is to offer live kits and the occasional adult for sale. Once I can find an abattoir who handles rabbits, that may be a possibility as well.
I purchased my first two English Angora Rabbits in the January of 2020. These two girls were identi in every way! So much so that I couldn’t tell them apart. If they’re in their own pens thats okay but these two lived together for the longest time! One of the two ended up going to live at a farm down the road from me and I was finally able to bring in an angora buck! These two will be bred fall of 2020 and I’m so excited about those kits! There will be kits available from time to time and look for angora fibre for spinning in the store!
The fibre from Angora Rabbits is called Angora, while the fibre from Angora Goats is called Mohair! Angora garments are very warm and usually have a beautiful halo look to it!
